When an admin or source owner leaves a company, what is the process for ensuring the data remains in Onna?
Hi Onna Connect! We recently received this question that I wanted to share with the community:Q: When an admin or source owner leaves a company, what is the process for ensuring the data remains in Onna?A: If an admin or source leaves a company, we suggest locking the user from the user management page within Onna and sharing the source/workspace with the required users. Please note that if the creator of the source is now locked, the source will be blocked from mirroring Slack retention policies or matching retention policies in Onna.Read "Best practices for managing Onna access permissions" to learn more about the roles and permissions for specific workspaces. Please let us know if you have additional questions about access permissions within Onna. We're happy to help!
When viewing Slack messages in Onna that contain reactions, customers often ask how they can view the list of participants who provided a reaction in an export. To export reactions, select Message List and List of Messages, under source specific metadata when configuring a new export. Once the export has been created, you can use the below guide to better understand how to interpret the data found in the MessageList field.
Ever wonder what happens when you remove the mirroring of Slack? Today I'm sharing a question that our support team often receives when customers consider this change. Q: If I remove the mirroring of Slack, but keep syncing and archiving it in Onna, will Slack now sync and keep everything going forward?A: Yes, once the option to "mirror Slack Enterprise retention settings" is turned off, there is no additional action required from the user. In this article, you can learn more about the advantages of a Slack full mirrored sync. What other questions do you have about a Slack full mirrored sync?
In Wednesday's webinar, Advanced Data Discovery For MSFT 365, @Allison K and @AndyM shared the critical aspects of data discovery in Microsoft 365, specifically how to find, preserve, collect, and process data from Teams, Outlook, and Onna's enhanced connector for OneDrive. Many of you had questions at the end of the webinar and we wanted to highlight a couple of the answers in case you missed them: Q: Is Onna’s data storage HIPPA compliant?A: Onna data is stored on the Google cloud platform, which is HIPPA compliant. Typically Onna will sign a BAA when working with clients who require HIPPA compliance. Q: Is there any conversation reconstruction available in Microsoft Teams? A: Onna ingests Microsoft Teams conversations in an easy-to-read format, rendered in 24-hour periods. This rendering lets you see, in line, who is messaging back and forth and includes edits, deletions, attachments, emojis, and reactions. Q: How does Onna handle PST files stored in OneDrive?A: Onna processes and
What are the differences in the status of 'error' versus 'failed'? What is happening to constitute a failed sync?
When syncing sources, customers often ask about the differences in the status of 'error' versus 'failed'. And what is happening to constitute a failed sync?At the moment, failed and error sync statuses are the same. We will return failed and error sync status if these events occur during a sync run:Sync run completed with error. In this status, we finished the current sync run; however, there were several resources we could not sync into Onna. We will retry the resources we could not sync into Onna until they successfully sync. The sync run failed to complete. During the collection process, the sync suddenly stopped. This could be due to several reasons (invalid credentials, error connecting to API, etc...). The source will attempt to re-sync automatically. If you feel there is an issue with a failed or error sync retrying, please get in touch with Support, and we will investigate the matter further.
As you might have guessed, Slack is one of the most popular connectors available on the Onna platform. 📈We hear from many customers who are planning on migrating their Slack to Slack Enterprise Grid and are curious about what steps they’ll need to take within Onna after the migration. Here’s what we recommend:After the Slack Enterprise Grid migration has occurred, you will need to perform the following steps: After switching to Slack Enterprise Grid, confirm if Slack’s Discovery API is enabled for your organization. Occasionally we have seen the Discovery API being disabled after the migration. For an organization to be whitelisted for access to authorize the Onna Discovery app, an Org Owner needs to email email@example.com to say they’d like to “enable the Discovery APIs for Organization [XYZ]“. Slack will promptly enable the Org after verifying the email address matches an Org owner. If Slack fails to respond, users can use this URL to verify the status of the Discovery API. Confi
