In our Search Scenario series, we share one method for conducting a search request.
Before revealing the answer below, take a moment to reflect on how you would conduct the search. Would you run the search differently? Please share your approach in the comments.
Search scenario: Run a search for DMs and multi-party messages for one individual for the last 30 days
Basic Search with Identity Search:
-
Query: @”Username”
-
Note: Ensure you are using double quotes (“ “) not single quotes (‘ ‘)
-
Filter(s):
-
Search results representing conversations in which @”Username” is an Active Participant
-
Channels = Personal Messages (DMs) and Direct Messages (MPIM)
-
Participant = Username
-
Creation Date = Last 30 Days
-
-
Note - For results representing conversations in which “@Username” is both an Active Participant and a Member do not include the Participant filter
-
-
Alternate method - Search for @"Jonathan Go" AND (intitle:"Personal messages" OR intitle:"Direct message") in the search bar using only the Participant and Creation Date filters for the same results.
